All applicants must have a photograph and finger scan performed in our office prior to their exam. This is a mandatory procedure that must be undertaken by all candidates on either the morning of their test day, or in our office during our regular business hours prior to the exam day.
Personal Belongings - Coats, Bags & Valuables
The Test Centre asks that you kindly leave your valuables at home rather than bring them to the Test Centre. There is a coat room at the venue for coats and bags. There is a security desk where ALL VALUABLES must be checked in. These include: wallets, purses, cell phones, watches, dictionaries, laptops, cosmetics, etc.
The IELTS Test is Paper-Based
Test Centres in Canada only offer the paper-based IELTS test. We have a high quality speaker system and headphones are not used for the Listening section.
Speaking Test Times
Speaking tests at Global Village Calgary are held on both Friday and Saturday afternoons. Our off-site tests at other Calgary locations have speaking tests only on Thursday.
Speaking times are assigned by the center and are non-negotiable.
If you apply for a test date, you are expected to attend your speaking exam on the date given. You must make the necessary arrangements to your schedule to attend your exams as assigned. If you can not commit to a possible speaking test time, do not sign up for that test date!
Candidates will receive an email with their speaking time at 5 PM, 8 days before their test. It is your responsibility to contact us if you do not receive this email.
IELTS Practices have been reviewed by the Office of the Privacy Comissioner of Canada and found to be appropriate given the high-stakes nature of the test. For more information on how we handle senstitive bio-metric data, please read the attached document:
